... 2002:
- Until May 2002, the Gyalwa Karmapa focussed on his studies mainly with Professor Sempa Dorje and his daily practices in Kalimpong.
- In February, at Tibetan New Year, the new Shedra in Kalimpong was inaugurated by Gyalwa Karmapa and Kunzig Shamarpa.
- In May he came to France and started a closed retreat during which he received the transmissions of the Six Yogas of Naropa from Khenchen Trinley Paljor Rinpoche. He conducted this retreat together with Gyaltrul Rinpoche and Nedo Kuchung Rinpoche.
- In August, the Gyalwa Karmapa gave empowerments and the Bodhisattva-vow to thousands of disciples in Dhagpo Kagyu Ling, France.
- From September to December 20th he did another closed retreat in Dhagpo Kundreul Ling, France.
- On Dec. 22nd he gave a public Chenresig-empowerment in Dhagpo Kundreul Ling, France.
