His Holiness visits Hong Kong

February 3 – Arrival at the airport

28 years after the visit of His Holiness 16th Karmapa, it is the first time for His Holiness 17th Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje to visit Hong Kong. To welcome this auspicious occasion, more than a hundred disciples have delightfully received His Holiness at the Hong Kong Chap Lap Kok Airport with cheers and waving flags on 3 February 2009.

Press Conference In Airport Hotel

In the press conference held shortly after his arrival with the presence of over 10 Rinpoches and a group of lama. His Holiness has told the media that he is happy to accept the invitation of the local disciples to visit Hong Kong. He was pleased to have the occasion to meet with all the devotees and those who worked hard to make this event happened. He will conduct a series of pujas here, hoping to bring prosperity to the local community and benefit all sentient beings, particularly, at this difficult time of global financial crisis.
February 4 – Vegetarian Dinner

Early evening Gyalwa Karmapa and his entire company were invited to dinner at a vegetarian restaurant.
