Registration is open for the 2016/2017 public meditation course at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI).
The course will start on the 24th December with an overview of the course and an introduction to the Sojong practice. Sojong is a Tibetan word, and used in the context
of Buddhist practice means “purifying and restoring”. Thus the practise is about purifying oneself if one has damaged or broken a vow or promise. The day will be concluded with a celebratory welcome dinner.
The program includes Lama Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche giving teachings and explanations for the practice of Ngöndro. During this course the focus will be on the third of the
preliminary practices; Mandala Offerings. If one wishes, there will also be the opportunity to take the Sojong vows every morning. His Holiness the 17th Karmapa will be present on several occasions during the course for instruction and guidance of meditation practice.
The course concludes on the 2nd January 2017 with the closing ceremony & dedication prayers.
