The Karmapa’s Institute situated in the hinterland of the French Riviera was honoured to receive His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Thaye Dordje from the 25th until the 28th of July.
The teachings took place in a village 5km far from the centre, in a large tent specially decorated for the occasion.
During those days, explanations on Buddhist philosophy were given alternately by His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Thinlay Rinpoche and Trehor Lama, before an attentive audience who shown great interest.

His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Trinlay Thaye Dorje arrived in Karma Migyur Ling the 8th of August and stayed in Montchardon till the 15th August, followed by a big gathering of people coming from many places in the world.

As the highlight and conclusion of this year’s program of study, the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje offered teachings and initiations at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI) in New Delhi. Two hundred devotees from all over the world gathered at the Institute to meet with His Holiness and hear him speak about the path of the Bodhisattva.The intense and genuine spiritual atmosphere during the course left a deep impression on everyone who was present.

Hoarse voices murmuring unintelligible mantras and wishing prayers; “Swash!” the gentle rhythms of prayer beads and prostrations; “Chirp, Chirp!” The birds sing along with squeaking mani-wheels as an old woman casts her body to the ground joining the soft chorus of babble; an assembly of people of every agegroup representing every corner of the globe circumambulate India’s most impressive monument to enlightenment, while others gaze softly yet fervently in quiet admiration and with genuine aspirations.
