Meeting His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa in Kuala Lumpur

Karma Kagyu Dharma Society, Kuala Lumpur, Ceremony, Puja, Teaching

On the morning of the 23rd, His Holiness Karmapa took the time to meet with the youth from the Karma Kagyu Dharma Society. The Karmapa had a casual and friendly meet, with all in attendance listening astutely to the tailored advices His Holiness offered to their generation.

Afterward, representatives from the Vajrayana Buddhist Council of Malaysia, together with their president Allan Koo Yew Fook, met with His Holiness Karmapa to receive His blessings and advice. The Vajrayana Buddhist Council of Malaysia (VBCM) is an organization that consists of representatives of all Vajrayana Buddhist Schools in Malaysia (particularly the four main schools of Tibetan Buddhism) which endeavors to work together in order to coordinate all the religious activities of Vajrayana Buddhists in Malaysia under one unified group.

That afternoon, His Holiness Karmapa presided over the Red Chenrezig Jang Chog Puja held in the main prayer hall of
the Karma Kagyu Dharma Society.

In the evening, traditional offerings were made in a grand ceremony held in the same prayer hall, before His Holiness Karmapa began an open session of Questions and Answers with another massive gathering of devotees.

Good-humored fun was had by all, making the overall atmosphere of the evening pleasant and comfortable. No topic was
off limits, and His Holiness Karmapa handled each question with ease and grace, adding quips and clever remarks when the situation arose as well as offering sobering and thought provoking insight into the truth of Samsara and the correct approach to the path.

So when we practice compassion, when we apply compassion in our daily lives, we really have to tell ourselves, “That’s me, that’s who I am. I cannot change that; no one can change that.
