May 28th The Gyalwa Karmapa Gives The Refuge and Bodhisattva Vow and Chenrezig Initiation Before Completing The Two Day Discourse Of The 37 Practices Of A Bodhisattva.

On the morning of the 28th, His Holiness Karmapa gave both the Refuge and Bodhisattva vow to another massive gathering of devotees. His Holiness explained,

“The reason we take the refuge is not different from the bodhisattva vow. It is from the point of view of wanting to benefit all sentient beings. What we need to do is to realize that we have a great opportunity to not just help ourselves but also to help others.”

In the afternoon The Gyalwa Karmapa gave the Chenrezig Initiation, before completing His discourse on the 37 Practices Of A Bodhisattva. Both the introduction to the Chenrezig Initiation and the evening’s teaching ran the gambit of important Buddhist topics. His Holiness’ prowess for explaining profound subjects with ease and grace as well as His intellectual dexterity has proven to satisfy both the most prudent scholars as well as the spiritually devout.
