Gyalwa Karmapa and Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche private event in Hong Kong

Between December 27 and 31, 2012, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, as well as Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche, were invited to Hong Kong for a very special private event: the wedding ceremony of Mr Jason Fung and his bride Loretta. The couple and their families had wished for both the black-hat and the red-hat emanations of the Karmapa (also known as shamarnag) to be present for this grand day in their lives.
His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa was picked up by private jet from New Delhi and arrived in Hong Kong in the late afternoon of December 27.
The wedding ceremony was held on December 28 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hong Kong. When asked to give a few words of blessing for the bridegroom and bride before the ceremony, His Holiness expressed his pleasure at being present “at this lovely gathering”, and wished the two young people “the very best for their wonderful journey as a couple”.
His Holiness returned to New Delhi in the late evening of December 31, just in time for the Western New Year.
