His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa Thaye Dorje visits Kiev, Ukraine

01 August 2005:

His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Thaye Dorje arrived on the 1st Aug 2005 in Ukraine having been invited by the Diamond Way Buddhist Association of Ukraine. It was His Holiness first visit in the country.

02 August 2005:

On the 2nd Aug His Holiness met with representatives of the Diamond Way Buddhist Centers in Ukraine.
On his first visit to Ukraine His Holiness the 17th Karmapa gave explanations on Buddhist Refuge and Bodhisattva Promise in the National Palace “Ukraine” in Kiev. Following the explanations, 400 people took Refuge and over 2.300 participants received the Bodhisattva Promise.

03 August 2005:

Meeting with representatives of the Diamond Way Buddhist Centers from Russia in the morning.
His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Trinlay Thaye Dorje gave the Marpa initiation to over 2400 participants in the National Palace “Ukraine” in Kiev, Ukraine.

His Holiness visit was widely covered by major Ukrainian media.

Visit at the Diamondway Center in Kiev. Departure to London.
