Manila, Refuge and Bodhisattva Vow, Teaching

There were many newcomers, who had come either to gain more knowledge from His Holiness Karmapa about the Buddha Dharma, its philosophical tenets and methods of practice or to take the opportunity to receive the refuge vows from such a great master as the Gyalwa Karmapa. His Holiness Karmapa answered an array of questions on topics such as Shunyata, Karma, rebirth and many more prominent themes of Buddhist Philosophy and practice.

His Holiness expressed the importance of the diversity of religious beliefs in the world, adding that each one offers practical advice in the areas of ethics, morality and a sense of what is honourable and decent.

Before the conclusion of the evening, His Holiness Karmapa presented Dr. Raj of De La Salle University with a crystal stupa as a token of His Holiness’ appreciation and friendship.
