Presentation of the new Karmapa International Buddhist Society at K.I.B.I.

On 11th march, in the presence of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, Prof. Sempa Dorje, special guests and visitors from all over the world Khenpo Mirti presented the new Karmapa International Buddhist Society (K.I.B.S) at the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute.

On January 30, 2012, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje, visited his newly purchased land in Kalimpong for the first time. This land has been donated to him by students from Europe.

Kagyu Monlam 2011 with His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa and Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche

For the past five years, ever since 2007, the Kagyu Mönlam Chenmo has been taking place every year.

This year’s Mönlam opened on December 14, 2011, with the lighting of the sacrificial lamp by His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje, before He took His seat on the throne to lead the assembled monastic and lay sangha in the recitation of praises to different enlightened aspects and aspiration prayers for world peace and the enlightenment of all beings. Shortly afterwards His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa was joined by Kunsig Shamar Rinpoche, also known as the Red-Hat Karmapa.

So when we practice compassion, when we apply compassion in our daily lives, we really have to tell ourselves, “That’s me, that’s who I am. I cannot change that; no one can change that.
