June 3rd, The Gyalwa Karmapa Attends The Medicine Buddha Puja And Gives The Medicine Buddha Empowerment to a packed audience at the SMX Convention Center in Manila.

On the 4th of June, His Holiness Karmapa presided over the Puja of Dorje Sempa at the SMX Convention Center in Manila, before giving the empowerment of Dorje Sempa later that evening. After the completion of the empowerment, His Holiness Karmapa came down from the throne and walked to the audience, where a gathering of elderly and disabled people were seated, to confer the blessings of the empowerment to these individuals, sparing them the difficulties of joining the long procession of devotees that typically takes hours to complete before the ceremony comes to an end. His Holiness Karmapa repeated this act of kindness during each empowerment he gave in manila.

On the 5th of June, His Holiness Karmapa presided over the Puja of Amitabha at the SMX Convention Center in Manila, before giving the empowerment of Amitabha later that evening. General Samuel Pagdilao, Police Director General/Chief Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the Philippines National Police, paid his respects to His Holiness Karmapa by offering the traditional white scarf customary in Tibetan Buddhism before the Empowerment. General Pagdilao had chosen to receive the empowerment from His Holiness Karmapa in spite of his catholic tradition, due to the respect he had gained from meeting the Karmapa during His Holiness’ visit to Manila.
