Wishes and aspirations for world peace: Kagyu Monlam 2015
Every year, Karma Kagyu practitioners gather at Buddhism’s most sacred place, Bodhgaya, to pray, to confirm their intentions for world peace, and for the benefit of all sentient beings. Bodhgaya, in India, is the place of Buddha’s enlightenment.
Mahakala purification rituals were performed at Karma Temple in Bodhgaya, beginning on 9th December. Three days later Lama Dances were performed, and a replica of a Mahakala statue was burned in a symbolic purification of all obstacles.
In the shelter of the Bodhi Tree, His Holiness the 17th Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje, led Venerable Rinpoches, Sangha and lay practitioners in prayers and aspirations for world peace. Their words and actions engendered Bodhicitta – enlightened attitude.
